Our Choices Kitchen and Bakery in Burnaby prepares the food available in our delis and bakeries at our stores. We are looking for experienced individuals with a passion for food to help support our kitchen team as part-time and full-time Kitchen Assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare various salads and sandwiches;
- Prepare and package Meals to Go; Cheeses
- Organize storage of food ingredients and disposables;
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen;
- Ensure safety protocols are taken and quality standards are met; and
- Other duties as required.
- Working near hot equipment and/or in cold rooms.
Qualifications/Expectations:
- Passion for food;
- Proficiency with cooking equipment and utensils;
- Previous kitchen experience;
- Eager and willing to learn;
- Great attention to detail;
- Understanding of sanitary practices and protocols-ideally has FoodSafe certification;
- Strong organizational skills around food storage, preparation and disposables; and
- Available to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
